It is mainly used as a solvent for oils, nitrocellulose, synthetic resins, alcohol-soluble dyes and ethyl cellulose.It can also be used as a fast-drying agent for varnishes and a diluent for coatings,as a penetrating agent and leveling agent in the printing and dyeing industry,and as an additive in the fuel industry.
